A signature work of Ib Kofod-Larsen, the U-56 easy chair from 1956 was acquired by the English Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip during a visit to Copenhagen and has since then been nicknamed Elizabeth. Its delicately curved armrests, with chamfered details, combined with the low seat height and the sledge-like back make this an eminent example of Danish Modern furniture design.
Originally manufactured in Denmark until production ceased, Elizabeth – like her namesake – is still going strong, reintroduced in 2018 by Danish furniture royalty, Brdr. Petersen. Available to order in Australia exclusively from Danish Red.
