GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT WOOD
We offer a quality product in many types of woods.
Wood is a natural material, which can be affected by changing humidity, direct sunlight and normal wear and tear. The thicker or wider the wood the more it will react, and despite careful wood selection and drying, table tops and wooden legs can develop a rough surface and may slightly warp. Likewise the width of the gap between planks or in worse case wood splits, may be caused due to the humidity and changing environments, such as heat from radiators or other heat sources, direct sunlight, changing seasons etc. You may experience some of these features no matter under which conditions the table or piece of furniture is placed. We recommend maintaining a consistent humidity of 30-60% in your home.
Moreover, the natural structure of the wood may contain different characteristics including a variation in timber colours, which are all natural parts of the wood and which is not considered errors in the product. Knots are holes from branches, visible medullary rays in oak are horizontal rays that extend away from the core of a tree towards the bark. Usually, they appear to be very shiny and vary in height and length. These are all signs of authenticity and are not considered as defects but only natural characteristics of the timber.
It is important that you follow our care instructions carefully, in order to preserve your solid wood furniture for many years to come. Please find your care instructions here, or on the manufacturers website. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to ask us.
