FH38 Windsor Chair | Frits Henningsen | Carl Hansen & Søn
The Windsor Chair was first designed in 1938 by the Danish architect and cabinetmaker Frits Henningsen. In continuous production at Carl Hansen & Søn until 2003, the majestic chair is now reissued with modern comfort in mind.
The Windsor Chair’s clean lines belie its skilled craftsmanship, which requires multiple carpentry techniques to make. Precision shaped from solid FSC™-certified oak and sanded by hand, the high-backed chair is a fusion of a dining chair and a lounge chair.
Now offered with a leather seat cushion for added comfort, the majestic design is light in its expression thanks to its open spindle frame and gently curved back, seat and armrests.
Each unique chair is not only beautiful to look at but also a distinguished example of traditional craftsmanship refined over centuries.
